Calling all Kendal Residents! The Commissioner and Chief Constable Want to Hear Your Views On Policing

Please come along and share your views about policing in your local area with Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Peter McCall  and Chief Constable, Michelle Skeer on Tuesday 18 February 12-1.30pm at the Station Inn, Oxenholme, Kendal LA9 7RF. No appointments necessary.

Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Peter McCall holds monthly public surgeries as opportunities for members of the public to ask the commissioner questions and these events take place though out the year around the county.

Peter McCall comments: “I was elected to represent the views of people from all communities across Cumbria and I am keen to meet and listen to as many people as possible.

“I urge people to take this opportunity to drop in for a chat. It is a key role of my job to represent the public in policing matters and I can only do this effectively if people let me know what they think.

“I am really looking forward to meeting local residents attending the South Lakeland Age UK luncheon group and hope people will also drop into the Station Inn and use the chance to meet myself and Mrs Skeer face to face.

“I am delighted that the Chief Constable is joining me and we hope that people will use this opportunity to share their views on policing in Cumbria. We really want to hear about any issues people have in their surrounding area and how policing can help.”

Chief Constable Michelle Skeer, Cumbria Constabulary, said: “A core role for policing is to listen to, understand and work with the communities we serve.

“I am looking forward to visiting Kendal and meeting those that live in the town and the surrounding areas. If you have a concern that you would like to discuss or simply want to find out more about what we, as a police force, are doing to support you – please drop in for a chat. With your information, we can use this to help prioritise what we do to improve the quality of life for those living or working in the local area.

“In Cumbria, we have strong links with our communities and partner agencies which assists our officers and staff in keeping people safe.”
