Come along and tell us your views at Cumbria Pride

Cumbria’s Deputy Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (DPFCC), Mike Johnson, is encouraging people to support Cumbria Pride, celebrating the positive actions and support for LGBTQ+ communities across the county, on Saturday 23 September at Caldew Riverside Carpark, Carlisle from 12-6pm.

DPFCC Mike Johnson, comments: “Cumbria Pride is all about celebrating our county’s diversity and how it benefits our communities.

“I hope people will take the opportunity to come along to Cumbria Pride, visit our stall and let us know your thoughts about policing and fire in Cumbria.

“Everybody has the right to feel safe and be themselves and it is important to be reminded of this when supporting our LGBTQ+ communities.

“Cumbria Pride is an ideal opportunity to ask police officers and firefighters any questions that you may have and let us know, how we can support people and keep our communities safe together. This will be my first Pride as Deputy Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner and I will be there to listen to anyone’s concerns in regard to policing and the fire service.

“Events such as Pride strengthen bonds within a community and make positive progress in achieving diverse opportunities for all, which is vital to building a stronger and more positive community for everyone.”
