Focus Group Meeting Covid-19 Engagement with ENTRA
5th October 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
ENTRA, short for Ewanrigg and Netherton Tenant’s and Resident’s Association, is a group of volunteers prepared to give up their time own to make the estate a happier and safer place to live. An earlier version existed over fifty years but had lain dormant for some time until, inspired by Colette Small of Home Group, local residents called a general meeting and the new version was born in July 2010. Supported by funding from Awards for All, Cumbria Community Foundation, Neighbourhood Forum and other smaller funders together with the continued support of Home Group, ENTRA’s success has been amazing.
Peter McCall, Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner is encouraging local residents to start a conversation with him about their ideas and suggestions for policing in the county. Due to the Covid-19 virus, he has adapted the way he engages with members of the public and as a result, is arranging various focus group meetings with a number of community groups across the county to listen to their views (positive or negative) in the area they live.
The aim of the focus groups meetings is for local people to discuss their experiences of the police and also any ideas for policing in the area. The Commissioner looks forward to having direct conversations with people face-to-face, and hearing first-hand about their opinions and suggestions for policing in their community.
