“I will be reading the detailed conclusions of the HM Senior Coroner David Roberts.
“The Chief Constable has on a number of occasions provided assurance that the inadequate operational procedures in 2012 have been addressed. I can further assure the public of Cumbria that HMICFRS the independent professional inspectorate have assessed the force within the last 12 months consistently as good and this includes complex crime investigations. There have been many improvements made in the five years and ongoing, since the tragic death of Poppi.
“Today, the HM Senior Coroner David Roberts has accepted that the appropriate action has been taken by Cumbria Constabulary in response to the failings that had been identified.
“Cumbria Constabulary is a good force and is committed to fighting crime to ensure that we are all kept safe.”
