Peter McCall Invites Public to Call in with Their Ideas on Policing
Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Peter McCall is welcoming people to arrange an appointment over the phone and speak to him directly regarding any concerns, issues, ideas or suggestions about community safety and policing matters in Cumbria on Tuesday 15th December 12-2pm.
Peter McCall comments: “A large part of my role as Police and Crime Commissioner is to hear the views and policing concerns of the people of Cumbria. As I have said on many occasions, your priorities are my priorities and they form the cornerstone of my vision ‘we, not they’.
“Since the start of the pandemic, my usual methods of getting out and about to hear local residents’ views regarding the service they receive from the Constabulary has had to adapt and change.
“For our next surgery we are welcoming people to arrange a time to speak to me directly over the phone, as not everyone has access to online communications.
“Our public engagement has taken various forms in the last six months, ranging from digital engagement days, community video messages about local policing priorities, open invitations to focus groups meetings and themed online surgeries, with the latest road safety surgery receiving numerous safety enquiries of which I have discussed at length with the Constabulary.
“I hope to be holding my public surgeries face to face in the New Year and look forward to once again visiting local areas around Cumbria and listening to local people and their views on policing and community safety.
“However, in the current climate, we have to be responsible, stay safe and try to prevent risk where we can. In the meantime, I would welcome people to take this opportunity and contact me via the Office to arrange a telephone appointment at next week’s surgery.”
