PFCC asks people their views on support services in Cumbria

Cumbria’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC), Peter McCall, is today launching a new survey; asking people who have experienced crime, to share their views on support services available across the county.

In order to help shape and develop commissioned services for victims of crime, the PFCC and partner agencies are looking to hear from people that have used, or decided not to use, support services in Cumbria. The survey will form part of the wider engagement with local communities and people affected by crime, that will listen to a variety of lived experiences.

PFCC Peter McCall comments: “Part of my role as PFCC, is to commission support services for people that have become victims of crime. It is essential that we hear from people about the service they have received, even if they have not reported the crime to the police.

“We are particularly interested to hear from people who have experienced burglary, theft, violence, verbal abuse, damage to their property, fraud or something similar, including online crime. We are also interested to know about reasons people do not contact or use the services available, whether it is because they didn’t feel they need support or because they weren’t able to get in touch with the right service.

“I encourage anyone that has been affected by crime in the last three years, to take a few moments to complete this survey and let me know your views.

“It is only by working together and listening to people, that we can understand the best way to provide support services in Cumbria.

“If you would like to discuss your experiences of support further, there is an opportunity to speak to our Victims’ Quality Champion and please contact the office on 01768 217734.”
