PFCC supporting Mental Health Awareness week

Cumbria’s Police Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC), Peter McCall, is supporting national Mental Health Awareness week, encouraging people to talk openly about anxiety and raise awareness of the services available for those who need support.

According to recent research, the Mental Health Foundation found a quarter of adults in the UK, report that anxiety has stopped them from doing things they want to do, and that in the current cost-of-living crisis, more than a third of adults, feel anxious about their financial situation.

PFCC, Peter McCall, comments: “This year the Mental Health Foundation are focusing on anxiety for Mental Health Awareness Week to try and increase people’s awareness and understanding around anxiety.

“The important thing to remember is that help is out there, you are not alone. I would urge anyone struggling with anxiety or indeed any form of mental illness to reach out for help, speak to a trusted friend or professional, or one of the many organisations where you can get help.”
