Public invited to apply for up to £2,500 from the PFCC’s Property Fund
Cumbria’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC), Peter McCall, is inviting local organisations to apply for up to £2,500 from the Property Fund, to help support projects that engage in community initiatives and interventions to reduce crime.
The Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner receive funds from the Police (Property) Act 1997 and the Powers of Criminal Courts Act 1973, which the PFCC then distributes to community-based causes that enable young and vulnerable people to be supported via local clubs, groups and activities.
PFCC, Peter McCall comments: “The Property Fund re-invests funds obtained from criminal behaviour back into our communities and helps prevent and tackle crime within the county.
“I would like to invite the public to apply for grants to assist with their community activities, projects and groups, that help reduce anti-social behaviour and crime, providing opportunities and funds where they are needed most.
“So far in 2023, we have supported organisations such as Army Cadets for archery equipment, Triple A to support adults with autism who have been referred to the service by local police, St. Patrick’s Catholic Primary School for funding to support their road safety initiative to keep their children safe during drop-off and pick-up, and Phoenix Youth Project, to help carry out an informal education programme around Youth ASB, for example.
“The next round of applications for the Property Fund is now open until the 24th November and I urge members of the public to contact the OPFCC if they would like to provide positive opportunities within their community. All information of how to apply can be found on my website.”
