Temporary Contract or Secondment – 12 months to cover Maternity Leave
Salary: £31,995 – £34,614
Hours: Based on 37 hours per week
Based: OPCC, Police Headquarters, Penrith, Cumbria
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for a Temporary Strategy (Commissioning) Officer. If you would like the opportunity to be part of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s team enabling them to be the voice of the public of Cumbria; developing and implementing strategy then this role could be for you.
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) is seeking a talented, motivated and confident commissioning manager to secure services to support the Police and Crime Plan for Cumbria.
The successful candidate should have a clear understanding of the Criminal Justice System or Policing environment, plus a strong grasp of procurement, commissioning and budgets. Crucially, they will be confident working in a complex statutory environment be an experienced commissioner/contract manager able to manage and influence relationships comfortable managing partnerships at a strategic level, an influencer, problem solver, negotiator and highly motivated.
Self-motivated with an ability to use their own initiative to co-ordinate work and meet strict deadlines. This area of work involves working closely with Officers within the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Offices, Senior Officers within the Constabulary, external agencies and other partners. This role may involve travel around the county and a full driving licence is essential.
