The Latest Round of ‘Ask the Commissioner’ Public Surgeries Kicks Off in The Lanes, Carlisle

Peter McCall’s is launching his latest round of ‘Ask the Commissioner’ surgeries on Wednesday 11th September at the Lanes Shopping Centre, Carlisle 10-12, inviting people to have their say and share their views about policing in Cumbria.

The sessions provide local residents with the opportunity to meet the Commissioner face-to-face in confidence and tell him their concerns or issues regarding crime and community safety. Members of the public are encouraged to drop in for a chat and let the commissioner know what they think are the policing priorities in their area.

Peter McCall comments: “I was elected to represent the views of people from all communities across Cumbria. In order to be the voice of the public I am keen to meet and listen to as many people as possible.

“I will continue to gather your opinions and issues about policing in your local area, and during the last few years, I have listened to your practical viewpoints from around the county.

“As the ‘voice of the public’, I am able to feedback to the Chief Constable and the police and this helps the force immensely. They cannot do the job without this and I am grateful to the public for this continued support.

“As I have said on many occasions, your priorities are my priorities and they form the cornerstone of my vision ‘we, not they’.

“I hope, too, that I have managed to convey how important it is that we all take some responsibility to help keep Cumbria the safe place it is.  Please come along to one of our autumn ‘Ask the Commissioner’ sessions and use this opportunity to speak to me directly, face to face.  We need to work together in our communities to help to prevent crime and anti-social behaviour.”
