Description
The Keep Safe Project was established to build a service which would provide a consistent delivery across Cumbria of crime prevention measures for victims of crime and anti-social behaviour. Funding was granted by Cumbria Police and Crime Commissioner to set up the Project which would deliver the crime prevention services through a referral system.
It is anticipated that the majority of referrals will be received from the Police, however it has been identified that not all victims would report incidents to the Police and may seek help from other agencies.
All suitable referred victims will receive free home security measures as well as advice to reduce crime and the fear of crime from Police Crime Prevention
Officers. The Keep Safe Project will purchase and arrange the installation of the security equipment. The work will be carried out by DBS checked handypersons” with the provision and installation free of charge.
For work to be completed the victims consent is required to refer details to
• Police Crime Prevention Officer
• (if appropriate) the Landlord of the property for permission to carry out the work.
No information other than the proposed security work will be passed to the
Landlord. Arrangements will be made directly with the client for the work to be undertaken and on completion of the work a customer satisfaction survey will be completed. The referring agency will be kept updated as part of the process.
