Description
Probation Service Victim Liason Unit
The Victim Liason Unit provides information to victims (or their next of kin) of serious and violent offences, where the offender has received a prison sentence of 12 months or more. We also offer the service when an offender is detained as a mental health Patient and is subject to a hospital order.
We can tell you about an offenders sentence and what that means and how your views can be considered at key stages.
Who We Help
We provide the service directly to the victim or to their next of kin should the victim be deceased, under 18 or a vulnerable adult. This could be Parents, grandparents, close relatives or siblings.
