Cumbria Youth Commission is Seeking New Members
Are you between the ages of 14 and 25 and live in Cumbria? Would you like to have your say on policing and crime in Cumbria? Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner Peter McCall, is urging youngsters in Cumbria to consider applying to join Cumbria Youth Commission.
Mr McCall established the Cumbria Youth Commission in March last year, as he was keen to increase the involvement of young people in the county to better understand the issues and priorities that are effecting them, as well as to support and challenge his work and views.
Peter McCall said: “I am really encouraged by how Cumbria Youth Commission is developing so far. They have already working up an plan of action to tackle the most pressing priorities that have emerged during their research so far: Bullying; Mental Health; Hate Crime; and Under Age Drinking.
“In December they presented their findings to myself and representatives from partner agencies, and we heard some great, innovative ideas which make so much sense, in terms of helping to improve engagement and break down barriers between young people and the police and other public authorities and agencies.”
“If you wish to be a part of this and make a real difference, please log on to our website for more information and to download the application form: https://cumbria-pcc.gov.uk/what-we-do/youth-commission/.”
Closing date for this round of recruitment is 26 January 2018.
