Last week to apply for PCC’s Property Fund – supporting local projects

Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Peter McCall is inviting organisations to apply for up to £2,500 from the Property Fund, to help support projects that engage in community initiatives and interventions to reduce crime.

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner receive funds from the Police (Property) Act 1997 and the Powers of Criminal Courts Act 1973, which the PCC then distributes to community-based causes that enable young and vulnerable people to be supported via local clubs, groups and activities.

PCC Peter McCall comments: “With one week left before the closing date on 31st March, I would like to encourage people running community activities, local clubs and groups, to consider applying to the Property Fund.

“It’s encouraging to see money generated and seized from those who commit crime, being redistributed into very worthwhile initiatives within our communities, providing opportunities and funds where they are needed most.

“The efforts by community groups not only assist the Constabulary to keep people safe, they also make a significant contribution to improving the quality of life for people across our county.

“I urge members of the public to contact the OPCC if they would like to provide positive opportunities within their community. All information of how to apply to the Property Fund can be found on my website.”

Please note that the next deadline date for Property Fund applicants is 31 March 2023 and for more guidance on how to apply, use the following link
